This weekend we are vendors at the Lakewood 400 Antiques Market in Cumming GA. It’s fun getting the booth all ready for Christmas. The whole event venue is so festive and blingy this weekend. If you live in the area, this show is a must-see to add to your list of things to do. We are located in Hall F each show. So come on by and see us!
Here’s a peak at our booth…….

Never, ever, can I walk by a cute little decorative trinket box when I’m out strolling thru antique markets. I’m such a sucker for them all the time. The more embellishments the better. And what are they really used for? Most of the time they sit on my desk looking pretty. But you can really justify buying one, because they can serve as a storage piece for paper clips, binder clips, jewelry, cotton balls, coupons…..all kinds of things can be safely stored in the boxes.
Let me show you the one I found this weekend……..ou la, la……..I just love this little cutie!
Thank goodness for trinket boxes! Don’t you just love it? The paper flowers are my favorite. And the “Hello You” is what really made me stop and pick up the box. It just spoke to me…….it said you need to buy me and take me home with you!
Thanks for stopping by today! Please feel free to leave a comment and share about your favorite treasure find.
Went to my favorite local flea market this weekend, Woodstock Antiques. I always find the best vintage treasures there all the time. Here’s a few photos of some of my favorite booth finds……..love the lighting fixtures!
It’s always fun to take a stroll at a local flea market on a Sunday afternoon…….it’s so relaxing and clears the mind!
For all the book lovers, my latest Summer read is Susan Mallery’s, “The Friendship List”. If you haven’t read any of her books yet, you really need too. They are all so good!
The hydrangeas are still blooming here in Atlanta…….not blooming quite as much as they did when it was cooler. But I still manage to find a few blooms to put in a vase on my desk.
What you you doing this Summer? Reading anything good? Leave us a comment, as we would love to hear from you!
Just finished this powerful and riveting crime drama novel, The Crushing Depths by Dani Pettrey! Couldn’t wait to read the whole book…….what a great read! Main characters Rissi and Mason will lead you through the world of investigation and compelling teamwork. Through plot twists and turns, the Coast Guard investigative team is under fire and at the same time researching shocking crime aboard the Dauntless oil rig. The book is intertwined with past trauma and has deep relationship love building throughout the plot. You won’t want to put this book down. Highly recommend it!
A great read for all the mystery and suspense fans! What are you reading right now? Would love to have you share with our readers.
I’m on Elizabeth Goddard’s review team and I just love her books. Here is my review of her latest novel release:
When a family member goes missing your heart sinks. Investigative reporter Rae Burke is the best at solving crimes and will do anything to help her family out. During her preliminary research Rae runs into former love interest, Liam, at a ski resort in Wyoming. Which is timely, as she could use his assistance for this case. Mystery and untold stories surround and intertwine the plot. Will Rae be able to find her sister-in-law, Zoey? And who knows the full story, maybe Zoey’s biological mother…….that is what Rae plans to find out! Great story line and writing. Kept my attention the entire time and I didn’t want to put the book down!
This time of year in Atlanta you will find all kinds of floral treasures to enjoy. At our small gift shop in the burbs of Atlanta we are blessed with many varieties of blooming plants and trees. Here are just a few photos I took this week: coreopsis, sun patiens, lemongrass, Miss Huff lantana, tiger lilies & liatris.
Our magnolia tree is in full bloom and the blossoms are magnificient! Look at the size of this one!
And our gladiola’s are now in full bloom. They are planted out in front of our business, in our iron bed, so the customers can enjoy them from the road…….
Our herb garden is coming along nicely as well. Here is a photo of the garlic plant that was planted by the previous owner. It continues to grow and bloom each year. And the bees just love it!
And of course my lavender is always a favorite all around and it’s in full bloom now…………..
What’s growing in your garden this Summer……..feel free to comment & share with us! Thanks for stopping by!
Well Earth Day has come and gone……but I did my part to participate in it. It’s usually about the time of year that I change over the flowers in our iron bed, out in front of our business. This year I went with some taller wildflowers, so they can be seen easier from the road.
I planted some of the Harlequin Pink Beardtongue and some Jethro Tull Coreopsis perennials. Both are supposed to get quite high in growth….like 18-22 in. So that should be great for filling the flowerbed. They spread out about two feet as well. Along the side of the bed I planted some Purple Salvia……..they are sun hardy and are so beautiful in the Summer sun. And they are one of my favorite annuals.
Have you planted your Spring/Summer garden yet? Would love to hear about what type of flowers you like to plant in your yard and garden beds.
I’ll post some additional photos of how the flowerbed is progressing along in about 6 weeks. So be sure and stop back by!
